How it works
- Open the books. Name the business, choose its currency and when the fiscal year starts. The chart of accounts and the usual journals are ready.
- Record entries. Pick what happened and say how much. Aconta Online writes both sides and refuses what does not balance.
- Read the statements. Open any book or statement at any moment. They are always current and always agree with each other.
The books you know
Nothing renamed, nothing reinvented: the same books an accountant opens, with the same names.
Journal book
Every entry in the order it happened, debit and credit side by side.
General ledger
The same lines gathered account by account, with a running balance.
Trial balance
The check that debits equal credits across the whole books.
Income statement
What the business earned and spent, and what is left.
Balance sheet
What the business owns, owes and is worth, on a date.
Made so that mistakes are hard to make
- It checks for you. An entry that does not balance is never recorded.
- History is never rewritten. A recorded entry is final. A mistake is corrected with a reversal, and both stay in the books.
- Periods close. Close a month or a whole year, and nothing can be recorded in it by accident.
- Many companies, one office. Keep several companies in one office, each with its own books, and read them in your own language.
